Skyderby is a place for skydivers and BASE jumpers to analyse GPS tracks, compete online and run competitions. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the website skyderby.io and the Skyderby apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
What we collect
- Your account: email, password (stored only as a secure hash), and if you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier they give us. With Apple you can hide your real email — then we only see Apple's forwarding address.
- Your profile: name, country, photo and gender if you add them.
- Your tracks: the GPS files you upload — positions, altitude, speed and time of your jump — plus the suit, place and comment you attach. If your FlySight also records sensor data, we keep that file too.
- Competition data: results, penalties and the tracks used to score them, when you take part in or judge a competition.
- Purchases: whether you have Skyderby Pro and when it renews. Payments are handled by Stripe on the website and by Apple in the apps. We never see or store your card details.
- Usage of the website: if you are signed in, we record which pages and features you use (for example, opening Pro View or comparing tracks), to understand what is useful and what to improve. Visitors who are not signed in are not tracked.
- Technical data: like any website, our servers log IP addresses and the time of requests, and we remember the IP of your last sign-in to help protect your account.
What the apps do on your device
- Bluetooth is used only to talk to your FlySight and a laser rangefinder, when you connect them.
- The apps do not use your phone's location. Positions come only from the track files you upload.
- Photos are read only when you pick one, for example a profile picture.
- Tracks you import are kept on your device until they are uploaded to your account.
- The apps contain no analytics and no advertising.
Why we use it
- To run the service: show your tracks, calculate results, rankings and competition scores.
- To keep your account working and secure, and to send emails you need — password resets, purchase receipts, competition updates.
- To improve Skyderby, based on how the website is used.
We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who can see what
- Every track has a visibility you choose: public (anyone, and it can appear in online rankings), unlisted (anyone with the link) or private (only you).
- Your profile name, country, photo and public tracks are visible to everyone.
- Competition results are public, as at any sports event. Organizers and judges of a competition see the tracks of its participants.
Who else handles your data
- Stripe and Apple process payments.
- Google and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.
- Service providers that host our servers and files, send our emails and provide usage analytics. They work for us and may only use the data to provide their service.
These companies may process data in countries other than yours. We only work with providers that protect it properly.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete it, except for things that are part of public competition results (see below). Backups are overwritten over time and disappear from them too.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself — in the app under Account, or on the website on your profile edit page. When you do:
- Your account, sign-in methods, settings and tracks that were not used in competitions are deleted.
- If you took part in competitions, your results stay in those competitions under your name, without your photo and no longer linked to any account.
- If you subscribed on the website, we cancel the subscription for you. If you subscribed in the app, Apple doesn't let us cancel it for you — so before deleting, the app offers to cancel it in one tap. A one-time Pro purchase needs nothing.
Your rights
You can see and edit most of your data in your profile and tracks, download your tracks, and delete your account at any time. If you want a copy of your data, want something corrected or have any question about privacy, write to us — we'll answer.
Children
Skyderby is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For important changes we'll let you know by email or in the app.
